A Pagani just broke the $10 million barrier for the first time at auction, and another Zonda is also expected to fetch a similar sum. In this context, the estimated price for this Huayra R almost seems like a bargain. This could be because these newer Pagani are not quite as rare as the Zonda. On the other hand, only 30 of the R were ever made – and they are among the most powerful cars ever, with the V12 producing an impressive 850 hp, while the weight has been reduced to 1050 kilograms.

Auction: RM Sotheby’s, Paris 2025, estimate 2,8 to 3,2 Mio Euro, with these informations: «Marking the first time that one of these exquisite Huayra Rs has been offered for sale at auction, presented here is chassis 005. Ordered new by the consignor to Denmark in May 2021 via Formula Automobile of Kongens Lyngby, this car was completed with a bespoke specification that added a remarkable €313,650 to the original list price. This included two finishes for the bodywork, with the roof, rear diffuser, front splitter, rear wing, mirrors, and side sills all presented in gloss carbon fibre while the remainder of the car gained a matte look. The exterior gains accent stripes in Bronzo Chiaro, Bianco Fabriano, and Rosso Dubai to complement matching Bronzo Chiaro forged aluminium 19-inch wheels and Olympus bronze six-piston callipers for the Brembo ceramic brakes. The pared-back interior, meanwhile, is presented in matte carbon fibre, with the bespoke configuration adding the Huayra R logo to the racing seat headrests, plus it finished the aluminium components in anodised matte black while dark grey Alcantara was chosen for the panels beneath the windscreen. Having been displayed in the summer of 2022 at former French Grand Prix host venue, Circuit Paul Ricard, chassis 005 returned to Formula Automobile for a service performed by Pagani at a cost of €64,135, according to a May 2024 invoice. Retained by its original owner since new, the car displays just 196 kilometres on its odometer at the time of cataloguing.»
