Sony Honda Mobilty just sounds stupid
At the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas (until 8 January), Honda and Sony have finally made their cooperation official. And they also gave the thing a name: Afeela. Which is supposed to have something to do with “feeling” and sounds much better than Sony Honda Mobilty (SHM). The two Japanese giants have also presented their first joint prototype.
Well, it is already the fourth year in a row that Sony is peddling such a thing. But we don’t know any more than we already do, no battery size, no other special features. A length of 4.9 metres and a wheelbase of 3 metres are not particularly unusual – and the first possible deliveries in spring 2026 are only moderately exciting. The Japanese are on the same slow time track as the Volkswagen Group with its “Scout” project.
At least the Japanese allowed themselves a little joke at the CES: on a screen embedded in the front, for example, the Afeela can announce the weather forecast to the outside world. In Las Vegas, Sony presented a trailer for the new Spiderman film. It’s called No Way Home. Which is hopefully not a bad omen. We have more Stromer on zero.
