Auction: Collecting Cars, December 2024. With these informations: «An original UK-delivered car, first registered in February 1973, it has just five registered keepers in total including the seller. It has known history from new, with the first owner Stephen Guyte selling it on to Kevin Morfett; a well-known entrant in the RS Championship. In 2002, the car was sold on to Michael Potter, having been identified as an ideal candidate for classic rallies by Mike Pickup of Pickup Motorsport. The car was subsequently campaigned in the Classic Adelaide Rally in Australia having been treated to around £65,000 of work between 2002 and 2009. Following a return to the UK, this 2.7 RS continued to be used as intended, enjoyed extensively on track, taking part in a number of Goodwood Road Racing Club and Porsche Club GB events. From 2010 it was used more sparingly, with some £17,000 invested in making the car more usable for the road by Carrera Performance. In 2011, ownership was transferred to Mr Potter’s son, and kept in storage until 2017. This 911 was treated to a full bodywork restoration between 2019 and 2020 at a cost of nearly £80,000 by specialist Carrera Performance. This included sandblasting the shell before reassembling and repainting the bodywork. Having been acquired by the current owner in 2021, circa £20,000 was subsequently spent with specialists such as Jasmine Porschalink, Unit 11, and Neil Bainbridge to recommission the car mechanically.»
