Porsche and dental gold

In Gaza, children and women are deliberately murdered every day by the Israeli ‘Defense Forces.’ What is happening in South Sudan must be so horrific that there are no reports anymore. In Europe, the fear (of politicians) of Putin is so great that the future of future generations is being wasted on armament, with Germany once again on the verge of becoming a war economy. In times as ugly and economically uncertain as we have not seen since the 1930s, Porsche has come up with the literally brilliant idea of actually melting five grams of gold into each of its latest special edition ‘Spirit 70’ models. Now, between us nuns: did the Stuttgarters still have this left over from the forced labourers who didn’t survive their work? What exactly were the executives thinking when they came up with this unspeakable marketing coup? Are they trying to crawl into the dark, but at least not windless, hole of the American Dick Pig, who is known to have a weakness for precious metals, preferably mined by child labour? Can you also discreetly have a few gold bars incorporated into the eventual economic escape vehicle on special request? Does anyone still believe that the Wehrmacht green paint job is a coincidence? Why hasn’t any of my esteemed colleagues in the automotive press come up with even a hint of criticism, why are self-appointed journalists celebrating this, sorry, crap in lengthy eulogies – copy/paste from the press release from Stuttgart? And another question: how incredibly decadent do you have to be to buy this? Or is this ‘Spirit 70’ perhaps just a perfect reflection of what is currently happening in the world, the division between self-enriching kleptocrats and 99.999 per cent of the rest of humanity?

In an excellent Mexican film, it is said that the soul weighs 21 grams. Porsche, once one of the world’s greatest car manufacturers, has now sold its soul for five grams of gold. In future, our archive will only contain older Porsche models.
