Through the roof
Admittedly, the white 250 GTO, #3729GT, may have fallen slightly short of expectations at £38.5 million. But otherwise, prices went absolutely through the roof, especially for Ferraris, at Mecum’s first major auction of the year in Kissimmee. Yes, Mecum, somewhat ridiculed by the big names in the industry, yes, Kissimmee, located south of Orlando and certainly not the most glamorous location, with over 4,500 lots, a veritable monster of an auction and therefore often avoided by the rich and famous in the past. And then the Americans smash one record after another.
