We also absolutely have to relax our collection of Porsche 959s, which has become very confusing, we have too many. And you have to look at it in the long term. If we list the vehicles individually, it’s easier to update them, and you get a better overview of the car’s career. And we have written a lot about the 959, including a road test and some information about what happened and is happening to them in the USA, at Bruce Canepa.

Auction: Bring A Trailer, January 2025, sold for 1’875’000 Dollar, with these informations: «This 1987 Porsche 959 Komfort is one of 292 production examples manufactured between 1986 and 1988 and was delivered new to a businessman in Japan who retained it for 15 years. In 2003 the car was imported to the US on a “show or display” exemption and then modified by Wallace Environmental Testing Laboratories of Houston, Texas, to meet EPA and California emissions standards. It was sold to its next owner in 2007 and moved to Florida, where it is said to have been displayed at the Swap Shop museum in Fort Lauderdale for several years before being sold to another Florida collector in 2017. The car was purchased by the seller approximately six months ago and subsequently received a mechanical freshening by Canepa in Scotts Valley, California, at a total of over $95k that included the installation of a manually adjustable coilover suspension system. The six-digit odometer shows 13k kilometers (~7,800 miles), approximately 128 of which have been added under current ownership.»
