Like Milk
Ferrari was always concerned about colours (see also: here). Here is one that we had never read about before: Bianco Latte, or white like milk. This Ferrari 250 Europa GT, chassis number #0419 GT, was planned as an exhibition piece, but was delivered to Pininfarina in August 1955. It was then sold to Jacques Swaters in Belgium, and shown to an amazed audience at the Motor Show in Brussels in January 1956. After that, Swaters, Olivier Gendebien and Léon Dernier are said to have competed in various races with the Ferrari, and Dernier then bought the car. Known under the pseudonym ‘Eldé’, the Belgian had a long racing career, finishing in the top 10 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans four times. After a few more Belgian owners, #0419GT first came to the Netherlands, then to Italy, where it was once painted silver, then back to Belgium, and finally in 2007 to the collection of Ken Roath. He promptly sent the Ferrari to Ferrari in Maranello for a complete restoration – as a logical consequence, the Europa GT was of course issued with the Red Book, which confirmed its authenticity.

The Ferrari 250 Europa GT will be auctioned by Gooding & Co. at Amelia Island 2025, where 1.75 to 2.25 million dollars are expected. We have a clean history for this Europa GT with an impressive collection, here, which also explains the differences to the 250 Europa. And we also have an archive.
