There are many stories about the Lancia Delta S4 Stradale. One of them concerns the number of vehicles actually sold. 200 would have been needed to achieve homologation for Group B. Auction: Bonhams, Paris 2025, estimate 480’000 to 680’000 Euro, with these informations: «Produced in 1985, this Lancia Delta S4 Stradale, chassis 0017, engine 0059 and registered to Savio 3032, was sold new in London by Coombs of Guildford on 4 August 1987 to a Mr Paul Dawson. Invoiced for £44,442, as confirmed by the original invoice in the file, the Delta was painted in Nero Metallizzato with a Green Alcantara steering wheel. It was purchased and imported to France in 1990 by Mr Jean-Christian G. At the time, the car had travelled just 2,420 kilometres. It then took two years to get the S4 homologated, as the model was unknown to the mines. We therefore have numerous exchanges between Mr G., the mines and the various Lancia/Fiat offices in the file, all for the purpose of registering the car in France. It was ultimately thanks to the DGM 51831 OM approval certificate in the file that the Delta was registered in France on 26 October 1992. de Monsieur G., le propriétaire actuel en fait l’acquisition en 2000 et la conserve depuis dans son garage chauffé, continuant de la faire tourner et de l’entretenir régulièrement, garantissant sa préservation au fil des ans.
