Fritz Ramseier senior founded Fritz Ramseier & Cie. Carrosserie Worblaufen in Worblaufen near Bern in 1929 together with his sons Ernst, Fritz and Hans. The company soon built up an excellent reputation, employed up to 40 staff and presented its first two vehicles at the 1931 Geneva Motor Show. Until the start of the Second World War, the Worblaufen-based company mainly produced convertibles based on Alfa Romeo, Bugatti, Buick, Bentley, Delahaye, Ford, Peugeot and Renault. The patented convertible top proved to be the best selling point. Thanks to an integrated spiral spring, it could be operated with just one hand and folded up very compactly.
It was only with the appearance of the Millenove that Carrosserie Worblaufen came into contact with Alfa Romeo again. It is assumed that the Ramseiers probably bodied six Corto Super Sprint, one of them (#01950) as a 4 posti, i.e. with four full-size seats. The vehicle we are showing here is chassis number AR1900C 01910 – maybe we will be able to tell you more about its history soon, we have an excellent source. For now, we can announce that this Worblaufen-Alfa will be auctioned by Broad Arrow at Amelia Island in 2025, with an estimated value of $125,000 to $175,000.
