Engine: –

Auction: RM Sotheby’s, Paris 2018, sold for 933’125 Euro. With these informations: «Delivered new to Germany in June of 1992, this European-specification F40 is a late-production example and therefore is fitted with both catalytic converters and an adjustable suspension. Remaining in German ownership since new, its first two owners were Horst Sonnendorfer and Roland Berkhaus, respectively. It was purchased by its current owner from Berkhaus, who owned it for a few years before selling the car to a friend, before realizing the error of his ways and subsequently purchasing the F40 back. The car presents wonderfully throughout and has been repainted just once in its life, and is confirmed to still be wearing its original front clamshell and doors. It is important to note that the car has last received a belt service in May of 2016, an annual service in September of 2017 and most recently has had its fuel tanks and catalytic converters replaced in December of 2017, leaving it fully ready to be driven and enjoyed by its next owner. In addition to its original owner’s manuals and warranty card, two sets of keys, and a tool kit the F40 is offered with a highly desirable set of luggage.». But there was also something in french: «Cette voiture n’est pas équipée de sa boîte de vitesses d’origine, mais d’une boîte de remplacement correcte, installée au début de l’existence de cette voiture».
