Listed for sale in RM Sotheby’s Private Sales (January 2024), price on enquiry, offered with the following description: ‘Falling approximately in the middle of F40 production, chassis number 86420 was built as one of 213 F40s designated for the US market, being completed by the factory in September 1990. It was delivered to its first owner in Florida in December of that same year, according to Ferrari historian Marcel Massini. Having spent its entire life in the US, it was acquired by the current owner nearly twenty years ago in California and has been with him in Texas ever since. The F40 has been driven approximately 4,000 miles under its current ownership, with the total mileage standing at just under 11,500 miles from new. Having spent most of the last few years in static storage, the car will therefore require servicing before it can be driven and enjoyed to the full. The F40 was still listed on Private Sales in March 2024, but now had a price tag: 2,600,000 dollars. And new photos:
