We are somewhat surprised that we have never written anything about the McLaren Sabre. Well, it’s probably because the Sabre was only available in the USA and was created at the suggestion of the McLaren dealer in Beverly Hills. It looks like a slightly tamed Senna, but still has a very wild exterior. It is said that the American dealer had five customers who simply did not like the Senna, so they ordered the Sabre (project code BC03) from McLaren Special Operations (MSO). However, even the new design did not appeal to these VIPs, so McLaren set out to find customers itself after all the preliminary work had already been done – and managed to secure 15 contracts. The Sabre is powered by the familiar 4-litre V8 with two turbos, which delivers 824 hp and a maximum torque of 800 Nm without any electrical assistance. The Sabre is said to be capable of speeds of 350 km/h, significantly more than the Senna.
