This is the 16th F40 LM to be built by Michelotto; the car was delivered on 8 June 1993. The buyer, the American Ed Wettach, never intended to race it – and put the LM up for sale in 1997 for $520,000. He did not find a buyer until 1999; #97881 then travelled via Australia to France and Mexico, and finally returned to the USA in 2024. It was recently fully restored by Michelotto.
