Verkauft über Girardo & Co., mit diesen Angaben: «A beautifully presented Cat Non-Adjust example built in November of 1990, this F40 – chassis number 87684 – was sold to its first owner in Monaco via the Ferrari dealer Parauto S.r.L in Genoa, just along the coast into Italy. The F40 remained in Monaco for 16 years, undergoing regular servicing by the official Ferrari dealer G. Cavallari Monaco Motors. In April of 2003, when the car’s mileage was noted as 7,384km, the odometer was replaced and set to zero. After its Ferrari Classiche certification was issued, confirming the original ‘matching-numbers’ status of its chassis, engine, gearbox and body, chassis number 87684 was acquired by a British collector and road registered in the United Kingdom. Between 2011 and 2017, the Ferrari specialist Bob Houghton was entrusted with the maintenance of this F40 – accompanying invoices detailing the myriad works total over £35,000. In April of 2019, with the mileage noted as 8,731km, this Ferrari joined the collection of its current Hong Kong-based owner. He immediately commissioned DK Engineering to carry out a cosmetic restoration of chassis number 87684. Totalling almost £33,000 (GBP), the project was nothing short of exhaustive and focused on addressing any small repairs and refurbishing a plethora of small details – from repainting the stone-chipped front clam and refinishing the chassis bracing to replacing the engine heat shielding and installing a bespoke plumbed-in fire-extinguisher system. Upon completion, chassis number 87684 was flown to Hong Kong to join the collection of its current owner. It remained in East Asia for almost six years, during which time it was kept in immaculate condition by Elite Detailing and Protection. All the exposed lower sections of bodywork have been covered with paint-protection film. In the spring of 2025, this F40 returned to the United Kingdom, joining us here at Belchers Farm. Having inspected the car, we can confirm the presence of all the correct numbers pertaining to this particular F40, including those on the body, wing and latches. Equally satisfying is that chassis number 87684 retains its original factory warranty and service book, owner’s manual, leather pouch and tool kit. The Ferrari will be delivered with a fresh major service from DK Engineering.
