Auktion: Bring A Trailer, verkauft für 500’000 Dollar (März 2026), mit diesen Angaben: «This 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS is one of 1,580 examples produced and was outfitted in M472 Touring specification. The car was restored at a cost of ~$200k by Michaelian Restoration of Stuart, Florida, for Bobby Rahal between 2014 and 2015, while work in the last three years has included installation of a chain tensioner update kit, an overhaul of the 915 five-speed manual transaxle, and replacement of the front brake rotors, front shocks, tires, rear spring plates, shifter assembly, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, and ignition coil. It is powered by a replacement 2.7-liter flat-six equipped with mechanical fuel injection and is finished in Tangerine over black and Pepita houndstooth fabric. Equipment includes a ducktail rear spoiler, 15″ Fuchs wheels, and sport seats. This Carrera RS was recently acquired by the selling dealer and is now offered in Miami, Florida with service records, a logbook, and a clean Montana title.
This Touring example came finished from the factory in Tangerine (018) and was repainted during the mid-2010s restoration following the completion of rust repairs and body work as detailed in records in the gallery. Replacement black Carrera side stripe graphics have been installed, and paint protection film was applied to the entire body and windshield in November 2022. The selling dealer states that both rear quarter panels have been replaced and notes that damage in the left front footwell has been repaired. A paint crack on the decklid is viewable up close in the gallery. The car was factory equipped with ventilated disc brakes at all four corners, and the front rotors were replaced in January 2024. Replacement rear spring plates and Bilstein front struts were installed in 2023. The interior of this example was re-trimmed in 2015 and has been fitted with sport seats upholstered in black with Pepita houndstooth fabric. A stock shifter assembly was installed in May 2024, and Rennline pedals have been added.
The replacement 2.7-liter 911/83 flat-six was factory equipped with Nikasil-lined cylinders and Bosch mechanical fuel injection, and output was rated at 230 (SAE) horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque. The engine was rebuilt during the restoration in 2015, and an updated chain tensioner kit was installed in 2023. The spark plugs, ignition coil, and fuel tank breather hoses were replaced in 2024, and the valve cover gaskets were replaced in 2025. An oil leak was noted from the crankcase joint on a 2023 invoice. The seller states that the engine case was re-stamped. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a replacement 915/08 five-speed manual transaxle, which was rebuilt and fitted with replacement synchro components in November 2023. The seller notes that the floors have been repaired.»
