Dann, 2013, tauchte der gleiche Wagen wieder bei RM Sotheby’s auf, Villa Erba. Mit folgender Beschreibung: « The Lamborghini presented here, chassis 3087, is one of only 474 Miura P400s produced between 1966 and 1970. It was delivered new, as a left-hand drive example, to Garage Foitek in Zürich, Switzerland, the dealership of former Swiss race car driver Karl Foitek. By 1976, the car was owned by John A. Andrews, of Reston, Virginia, and it was purchased by Sig. Prevosti in 1989 at Motorcars International in Dallas, Texas. Thereafter, it was exported to Italy, where it remained a part of his collection until 2007. During that time, the aluminium body was fully restored and finished in its original Rosso Miura colour with silver sills and black bumpers. All four wheels have likewise been restored, finished in silver, and were fitted with new tyres. A period-correct spare wheel is located under the front bonnet. The red body contrasts well with the interior, which has been upholstered in Senape leather, as it was originally delivered, and it was fully retrimmed to a very high standard. The dashboard and centre console have also been restored and finished in brown and tan leather and includes the original instrumentation. The engine bay is also very clean and nicely detailed. Proper restoration and maintenance are also evident under the front bonnet and on the black-painted chassis. The fit and finish of the body continues to remain in excellent condition. Since purchasing the car in 2007, the current owner has maintained the Miura to the highest standards. Most recently, the engine and gearbox were fully rebuilt by Peter Rosenmayer in Germany, the work totalling over €100,000. Supporting documentation and receipts are included in the car’s file. This Miura has been restored to a particularly high standard and has seen very little road use since completion. The P400’s styling and performance are just as impressive today as they were in 1967. Perhaps its most fitting description was printed in Road & Track, whose editors described the Miura as “one of those beautiful experiences every enthusiast owes himself”.»
Dann: Artcurial, Paris 2026, Schätzpreis 1,6 bis 2 Millionen Euro, mit diesen Angaben: « According to the ‘Certificate of Vehicle Original Configuration’ issued by Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. on the 3rd of August 2016, this car came out of the factory in ‘Rosso Miura’ with ‘Senape’ (mustard) upholstery, which matches its current configuration. This certificate also indicates that it was fitted with engine no. 1253, which is still the one it has today. It is one of 474 Miura P400 examples manufactured between 1966 and 1970 and one of around 125 ‘Prima Serie’ examples that featured the elegance and purity of early versions, with thinner and therefore lighter aluminium bodywork. This makes it the most high-performing Miura, thanks to a very favorable power-to-weight ratio.
This car was delivered new to the Foitek garage in Zurich (owned by former Swiss racing driver Karl Foitek) and was reportedly exhibited a few months later at the 1968 Geneva Motor Show. In 1976, it crossed the Atlantic to join the collection of John A. Andrews of Reston (Virginia) who sold it in 1989 to Mr Prevosti, an important Italian collector who brought it back to his country, where it remained in his possession until 2007 when he sold part of his collection at auction in London. At that time, it was completely restored to its original colour scheme and the interior was also redone according to its original specification. In 2007, it was acquired by a German enthusiast who entrusted it to Peter Rosenmayer’s Sport & Race Cars garage near Stuttgart for a complete overhaul of the engine and gearbox, in accordance with the original configuration. Invoices for this work are included in the file and total more than €100,000. After its restoration in 2013, James Weddle from Missouri bought the car and took it to the Miura 50th Anniversary at Pebble Beach in 2016 where it was certified by Lamborghini Polo Storico (document in the file). There, the vehicle identifcation numbers were confirmed.
It was purchased in 2013 by its current owner (a major German collector and Lamborghini enthusiast), who had it cosmetically restored to perfection, which is exactly how it looks today. The paintwork is stunning and features gold wheel rims and underbody panels, as per the original. In fact, Ferruccio Lamborghini’s personal Miura had these features with gold rims. It is equipped with Miura SV wheels at the rear, which offer the aesthetic advantage of a better fit around the wheel arches, although original wheels will also be supplied with the car. Right and left doors, the rear bonnet, each wing and the front bonnet bear the same correct production number 48. These details demonstrate the authenticity of this Miura from the very first series. It also comes with a history file including numerous restoration, parts and servicing invoices, restoration photos, various old registration documents, a TÜV roadworthiness certificate valid until December 2027, certificates mentioned above, a Lamborghini Polo Storico certificate and documentation about the brand.»
